Join your fellow students in exploring and discussing these new fashion capitals while discovering new cultures, fashion aesthetics, and brands.
Guest speaker: Eros Antoniadis
How do luxury brands maintain their image of exclusivity amid excess inventory? In the past, they have done this by burning inventory. However, with new laws passing that make burning inventory illegal, luxury brands are faced with new challenges they must now address. Join Business of Fashion faculty member Eros Antoniadis in exploring what's next for luxury brands and their overproduction problem. We'll look at what these companies do with leftover inventory and how to predict consumer demand and avoid overproducing products.
Guest speaker: Nicole Weiss
Come meet Nicole Weiss (VP, Global Head of Client Relations and Client Experience at Tiffany & Co). We talk to Nicole about her role at Tiffany & Co., her education and career background, and her advice for anyone looking to work with top luxury brands. In her current role, Nicole works with creative and design directors to create compelling runway events for high fashion collections and oversees high-end jewelry and watch sales. She has developed and managed a number of top luxury brands throughout her career.
In this interactive session, the class works in breakout groups to develop a tool kit of elements needed to produce a first collection or show. Working with your peers, you'll decide on a theme, then mock up an invitation, select a soundtrack, choose a muse, and begin developing a press release to promote your collection or show.
Guest speaker: Eros Antoniadis
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are a new phenomenon that is influencing the fashion industry. Join Eros Antoniadis in exploring what NFTs are, how they're affecting the business of fashion, and what this means for the future of the industry.
